The Body of Christ, the Family of God, and
the Community of Faith are all names we use to describe the Church.
While we recognize that we share these names with all who believe in
Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, claiming these names calls us to
practice our faith that identifies us as the local United Methodist
Church. You will see groups gathered for fellowship and for study,
people serving others and participating in worship.
You will see the very young and those who have many years of life experience and a full range of ages in between. You will see families and individuals.As you browse and interact with this site, and as you look at the photographs, you can almost hear the noise of work in the kitchen, laughter around the tables in the social hall as meals are shared, the ooh-ing and ahh-ing over newborn babies, the squeals of delight from little children, along with the rich tones of music ushering us into our times of worship.
The pictures within thise site will remind you of times that we have shared in joy and celebration, in offering comfort and consolation, of times that God has moved powerfully among us, and of times that we have shared some silliness and laughed at ourselves.The people of Bowdon First United Methodist Church are a welcoming, accepting, and nurturing group. God's love flows through this church family in a multitude of ways: offering hospitality to others, being instruments of comfort and peace in times of difficulty, and sharing the hope that is offered us through Jesus Christ.
Thank you to those who have worked to put together this page which will serve as a major resource for communicating with each other~ and as a beacon of light to reach further into the world with the message of Jesus Christ. We know that the use of good communication tools strengthens the fellowship. Enjoy the photos and whisper a prayer of gratitude for all that God has done and is doing among us. Each one shows that God's love is alive in Bowdon First United Methodist Church.
